Whether you’ve found someone through a match suggestion or advanced search, here’s how to start the conversation the right way:

Step-by-Step: How to Send a Message

1. Visit the Profile
   Go to the profile of the person you want to talk to.
2. Click the Message Icon
   You’ll see a message text under their profile picture or in the match list.
3. Write Your Message
   Keep it short and friendly. A simple "Hi, I liked your profile!" or "I see we both love hiking — have any favorite trails?" can go a long way.
4. Click Send
   That’s it! The person will get a notification and can choose to reply.

Note: Messaging may be limited depending on your privacy settings or account type (Free or Baeyond+). Make sure your profile is complete and visible to others for the best chance at a reply.

Tips for Writing a Great First Message

• Personalize It: Mention something from their profile that caught your attention.
• Be Polite & Respectful: A friendly tone creates comfort.
• Ask a Question: It invites a response and shows you’re genuinely interested.
• Keep It Light: You don’t need to say everything — just enough to open the door.

Where to Find Your Messages

All your sent and received messages are available in the Messaging section of your dashboard. You’ll also receive notifications when someone replies.

Can’t Send a Message?

If the button isn’t clickable:

• The user’s privacy settings may limit who can message them.
• Your profile might still be under moderation.
• You may need to upgrade to Baeyond+ for unlimited messaging features.
